What we do
In order to make significant and contributions to the development of Caribbean society, the Caribbean Congress of Labour has a wide mandate. Its purpose is to:

• Promote the welfare and interest of all affiliated organisations in order to achieve, in the Caribbean region, full organisation of all workers

•Fight for the recognition of the Trade Union Movement as the legitimate instrument of the working people to achieve their rights

•Work for the achievement of the economic, social, educational, cultural and other aspirations of the workers of the Caribbean region

•Build and strengthen the ties between the Free Trade Unions of the Caribbean, the rest of the Western Hemisphere, and the world

•Support the accepted principles of the Free and Democratic Trade Unionism as subscribed to by the ICFTU and ORIT, and seek to represent the Free Trade Union Movement in all Regional Agencies as approved by the Congress and General Council which exist or may be established to perform functions affecting social and economic interest of working people, while maintaining the independence and autonomy of the CCL as the Regional Organisation for the Caribbean

•Encourage the formation of national groupings and/or centres of trade unions wherever practicable and possible
